The shorts revisited. Two exceptional performances that are as different as they are fascinating:
Join us for a compelling evening featuring two distinct performances by acrobats and dancers Marica Marinoni and Juan Ignacio Tula. Their captivating solos “Lontano” and “Instanté” each explore the profound connection between body and movement through the lens of the Cyr wheel. |
The show uses strong strobe lights! Length: 2 performances of 25 minutes each with a break in between. From age of 7 No language |
marica marinoni "lontano"
In “Lontano”, Marica Marinoni engages in a mesmerizing dance with the Cyr wheel, transforming it from a simple prop into a powerful symbol of life’s cycles. As she maneuvers the wheel—ducking, rising, twisting, and pushing—it becomes both a partner and an adversary.
Her performance is a poetic and athletic exploration of our recurring struggles with identity and personal growth. Cathartic, beautiful and full of hope, Lontano is a gripping celebration of the human spirit. Juan and Marica both have established themselves as driving forces of innovation in French contemporary circus, pushing creative boundaries and exploring new circus expressions. |
juan ignacio tula "instante"
With “Instante”, Juan Ignacio Tula explores the metaphoric possibilities of the Cyr wheel. His performance is a physical dialogue of forces between his body and the metal ring, where each spin and counterweight opens a new realm of existential possibility. The simplicity of the gyrating, repetitive movement creates a state of exhaustion in his body, and from the blindness generated by constantly spiraling action, a survival instinct arises. “Instante” materializes a journey to the center of ourselves, leading us to the brink of hypnosis, disrupting our relationship to time. An unforgettable, captivating experience. After “Santa Madera” which kept the audience on the edge of their seats in 2019, Juan now returns to BCF. Compagnie 7bis, founded by Juan, serves as a vibrant hub for contemporary circus innovation in Lyon. |
