(Self-)Promotion and Marketing
The workshop is a cooperation of Berlin Circus Festival, Dachverband Tanz Deutschland and Performing Arts Programm Berlin.
The workshop is given by Martha Kaiser, project coordinator and assistant of the artistic direction of Festival Perspectives. The workshop will be given mainly in German.
International festivals, platforms and fairs provide great opportunities to get in touch with programmers, potential partners and co-producers, to communicate and present artistic work, to intensify contacts and eventually agree on collaborations and guest performances. But the chances are as many as the challenges:
Which are the festivals that suit my artistic work? How to get in touch venue holders and programmers? What are the dos and don`ts when approaching potential partners and co-producers? How to present my work and with what kind of material? How to follow-up on the conversations I had during the festival?
The workshop addresses artists, companies and their producers, managers and agents – everyone who is involved in promoting artistic work and wishes to improve his/her abilities in marketing and networking at international festivals.
During the second part of the workshop, two artistic projects will be taken as an example to discuss in depth ways of promoting and marketing. If you wish your project to serve as such an example, please write an email with your portfolio / dossier to artist[at]berlin-circus-festival.de with the subject: “MARKETING WS” no later than 8.8.2019. The BCF team will inform you until 15.8. if your project has been chosen. (Your project will only be considered if you've registered for the workshop)
