In her solo debut, Diana Salles combines aerial acrobatics with dance and song to create a spectacular physical theater performance that invites audiences to reflect on the physical and emotional strength required to answer the call of one's true self. “Delusional - I killed a man” is a contemporary circus solo show that embarks on a trans woman´s journey. Diana Salles explores the liberating, but also agonizing feelings of having murdered her former self, a common experience for many trans women when leaving their assigned gender behind. Through a multidisciplinary repertoire of circus disciplines such as aerials, dance, singing, and physical theater, Diana Salles invites us to reflect on the physical and emotional strength it takes to honor one’s deepest truth. This breath-taking piece invites the audience to experience the poignant moments of her transition, accompanied by mesmerizing music and evocative visuals that enhance the narrative of self-discovery and rebirth. Diana Salles graduated from the renowned ESAC in Brussels. She’s been honored with several awards, including the bronze award at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris and the International Bursary Award at the Fringe Amsterdam Festival. |
