SANCTUAIRE SAUVAGE is a mesmerizing circus performance around the state of blindness, that takes the audience on an intense sensory journey, that awakens the imagination. It all begins with the story of a blind man who describes the world as he perceives it to his daughters - two of the company's artists: a clearing at dusk, a forest in the hollow of the night, a heavy summer rain….
Sanctuaire Sauvage is a unique and breathtaking experience, filled to the brim with stunning acrobatics, poetic visuals and an emotional intensity that will leave a lasting impression.
“Rain has a way of bringing out the contours of everything; it throws a coloured blanket over previously invisible things; instead of an intermittent and thus fragmented world, the steadily falling rain creates a continuity of an acoustic experience.” John Hull, Becoming blind at the age of 45.
Inspired by the personal story of the blindness of a father, the Collectif Rafale finds a spellbinding way to open alternative ways of experiencing their art for both sighted as well as blind people.
The Collective Rafale was born from the meeting of three circus artists and a set designer. The performance is a fusion of the dramaturgy of space and intense physical and technical research to invent a circus material that will resonate with all spectators.
