A surreal dinner party gone delightfully off the rails. “Natures Mortes” blends slapstick, quiet brilliance and absurd acrobatics into an intimate circus gem where nothing quite works—except the magic.

“Natures Mortes” is what happens when a party never really starts—and yet somehow refuses to end. Set in the aftermath of a New Year’s Eve, the three characters and a dog in a bowtie wander through the surreal landscape of pastel balloons, broken resolutions and cheap plastic wigs. “Simply genius. Great art on a small stage” RTS Culture Karaoke, darts without targets and a dog trying new tricks unite slapstick and absurd acrobatics. Each bizarre moment is laced with quiet brilliance, where virtuosity hides beneath casual failure. “Natures Mortes” is a delicious madness—an absurdly comic dinner show that is circus in miniature: intimate, mischievous, and quietly explosive. Companie Moost, founded by Marc Oosterhoff, continues to push the boundaries of circus, dance and theatre with their non-elitist, inventive and genre-defying performances. With “Natures Mortes”, they remind us that the quiet absurdities of life can be unexpectedly moving—and strangely familiar. |
