"FOOD" is an eccentric feast: absurd, visually stunning and increasingly out of control. With playful acrobatics, object manipulation and Icarian games, four performers create a world fueled by our endless appetite for more. Around them, the elaborate scenography becomes a fifth performer: walls, tables, fridges and hidden mechanisms come alive, setting off a chain reaction of surprises, unexpected twists and comic derailments. "FOOD" is hilarious, clever and unsettling in equal measure. With a sharp eye for the absurd and a never-endingcascade of ingenious moments, the clever performance is a feast that keeps you on the edge of your seat and leaves you with plenty to chew on. “It’s quite possible that I’ve already seen the best show of the season.” — Theaterkrant Michael Zandl developed "FOOD" together with performers Fidel Rott, Jakob Vöckler, Karin Brodén and Hedvig Brodén. Known for his precise absurdity and visually inventive worlds, Zandl has toured internationally with "Sawdust Symphony", named one of the five best performances of 2022 by NRC in the Netherlands. "FOOD" is his debut as a director. |
