“Artifully she is climbing a rope simultaneously as she balances the ice on her head, [while the] falling and crashing of the ices symbolizes its own dramaturgy.” Danstidningen “The show symbolises melting polarice, climate change, coldness, change and beauty. Love Kjellson frames the visual with a dreamy, raw and timeless soundscape.” Sundsvalls Tidning |

“Plast” is a hypnotising experimental circus performance, which makes it almost impossible to take the eyes off the stage. The three artists invite the audience to dive into another world of polar ice, plastic veils and virtuosic live music. Plastic floats magically like the sea, the light touching it with a shimmering veil. Above there are at first one, then two bodies moving through the air. Hanging by their hair and in a sensitive aerial duo, the two artists spin and climb, as if meditating. With their captivating physical language, framed by a Nordic timeless soundscape, they story of personal visions and thoughts. These leave plenty of room for interpretation: the minimalist performance could tell of melting polar ice and the theme of the climate crisis, while at the same time it might deal with change, cold and beauty. “Plast” is the development of Hege Eriksdater Østefjell’s final presentation for her Master’s degree at the Circus and Dance University in Stockholm. The show premiered in November 2019 in Sweden and has been touring since then. |
