Open Call for Artists at the 9th Berlin Circus Festival
11.08.23 – 20.08.2023 We are looking for artists to present their artwork or create site specific works during the international Berlin Circus Festival at Tempelhofer Feld. The festival offers a platform for encounters between contemporary circus and visual arts. In an open-air exhibition, you get the opportunity and support to present your artwork to over 9000 visitors and become part of the festival-family including internationally renowned circus artists. We are looking for artworks of all genres, such as sculpture, performance (no circus acts), painting or photography that could be installed outdoors at the festival site. Do you have an art piece or a concept for a site-specific work that you would like to present at the festival? * exhibition: 11.08. - 20.08.2023
* opening of the exhibition: 12.08.2023
* set-up: 05.08. - 09.08. (as needed also earlier)
* take-down + return transport: 21.+22.08.2023
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Artists who would like to be part of the Berlin Circus Festival 2023 community
* Artworks that can be installed outdoors (sculpture, installation, painting, photography, etc.)
* Artworks that relate to the terms 'city', 'circus' or 'body'
WE OFFER
* An extraordinary exhibition opportunity as part of an international festival set the scenery of
the Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin
* An artists fee of 350,- EUR
* Art transport (on arrangement)
* Catering during working times
* High visibility with over 9,000 festival visitors
* Promotion of you and your work on our website, instagram and flyers
* Photographic documentation of the exhibition for further use
* Tickets for the 9th Berlin Circus Festival (1 day ticket free, further reduced tickets available)
APPLICATION
* Completed + signed application form (see PDF down below)
* 1-4 images of the work (via email or download link)
please pay attention to the following specifications of the images:
Naming: Your name + Photo credits
Resolution: 300 dpi (min. 200 dpi, or quality sufficient for an approx. A4 print)
> Please submit your application completely and follow the above specifications.
Unfortunately, incomplete applications cannot be considered.
> Announcement of the decision on participation will be made by 26th of June 2023.
> With your participation, you agree to be responsible for the set-up and take-down of your
own work on site to the given dates (in coordination with the curators).
> With your application you agree that the provided texts and images may be used
for promotion and communication for the Berlin Circus Festival.
