"Ákri" is a circus solo for an acrobat, a ladder, and a door, that reflects artistically on our boundaries between inside and outside, between success and failure, between changing one’s life or staying in the same place. “Funny, highly philosophical and full of surprising and excellent balances, imbalances and falls.” Recomana Blending acrobatics, object manipulation, theatre and clowning, "Ákri" moves back and forth between humour and philosophy. With irony, simplicity and great physical precision, Manel playfully reflects on the circus artists profession and asks the audience: How do we move from one stage of life to another? What keeps us going? And can we change without losing what has shaped us? “Dramaturgical intelligence, together with an exemplary acrobat, offers us a rounded work where body, laughter and thought coexist in harmony.” Recomana Born in Barcelona, Manel Rosés is co-founder of Soon Circus Company and has worked with companies including Circo EIA, Cirque du Soleil and Escarlata Circus. Always seeking irony and simplicity, he creates circus that is technically precise, deeply human and quietly playful. "Ákri" has already received several awards, including Best Show at FETÉN 2025, Best Indoor Show at Fira Igualada 2025 and Best National Circus Show at the Critics’ Awards 2025. |
